My FIL thinks the 031 av and the 310 are the same saw..

All modern stihl saws have anti-vibe and chain brakes and electronic ignitions...

Alot of the new stihls have relations from back to the older ones 021,025,026 028 ,029, 031, , 039, 044 ,046 ,064 , Have now become MS models I am sure there are some hidden up dates and features we dont see but for the most part it was a change in the oil and gas tanks , filler caps

I am thinking other then the 031 and 310 share the same size bore they are completely different saws..

The cylinder on a 031 is a completely different design...

You can ad a brake..Keep a eye on the bay for the parts...
