49-SHCPM Settings----Shout-Out!

I have a 49-SHCPM and i love it. But I have owned a englander 25pdv................it was a heat monster.........it cooked like a boiler! I have owned this stove for a couple of months and i dont seem to get the same same heat out of this stove as my other....................so it is cold now in Ohio............17 tonight ..................can everyone shout out the settings on thier 49-shcpm.........and what seems to being working for maxx heat......

Kinda have the same problem. The factory is 1-4-1. I switched to 4-2-1 and had significant heat output but I also got an 'e-3' error code. Which means overheat. So I am running at 1-3-1 and it puts out heat but I'm also interested in some answers

The heat output from my blower is Luke warm at best! Output from vent pipe discharge is scourching hot!! Go figure- should be opposite.

. I would totally agree with that. My blower is pushing out extreme heat..... But comparing it to my other stove it
is nothing compared to this one....... My house usually would be around 73 in 20' weather but can't keep it past 67

I was playing with the bottom three buttons again. I'm at 3-2-1 and the heat output is a heck of a lot hotter now.

Try playing with the first and second button buttons and always leave the third on 1.

I thought the bottom 3 buttons only affect the burning on heat settings 1 or 2?

Maybe I'm missing something here.....you guys are trying to heat your homes with the heat setting on the stove at 1 or 2 in this weather???

No I am using 7-7 on the fan and feed. Usually 3-3 on a 40' day. I am wondering what hooking up the cold intake would do? My house is older and doesn't have newer windows.... So I didn't hook it up?

Hi Erhalt1, I'm having the same issue with heat output. Were you able to find a resolution with the setting? I've tried 1-4-1 & tried tech recommendation to change to 2-2-1 & 2-4-1 but no improvement.

You will see vast improvemet with a 1 heat setting and a 8 fan speed. Then change the botton 3 numbers to 4-2-1. Make sure not to go over 2 on the heat setting or over firing will occure.

Va Va Voom. Heats like a frieght train.

The 4-2-1 settings mentioned above by Indy3 are more in line for a 25 PDVC, or PDV.

As an owner of a 10-cpm also, I was told by Mike Holton at Englander tech that the factory settings for the bottom 3 buttons are 1-1-1.

I have been using those settings, or 1-2-1 (for Barefoots) all winter and have great heat output. If you go much higher than 2 or 3 on the LBA, you actually are sending the air through the stove too fast and up the exhaust pipe....not enough time for the heat exchanger to pull the heat out.

Give it a try. I have not had to run the stove any higher than 6-9 heat setting all winter, and it has been down to 6 degrees here

BTW, are you sure the ash pan is seated completely, and the door gasket is too? Last FULL cleaning was done when?

The heat got a little bit warmer but nothing compared to the heat that you've described that you get with your stove. In regards to when I last clean it, I just got it installed 1/11/11 and the factory setting upon arrival was 1-4-1. As stated previously, I've called tech support 2x. 1st tech was polite and helpful with the setting described. No improvement. 2nd call to tech, experience wasn't helpful. No improvement. But basically left me feeling bad support with that call, like tough luck and blame it on the pellets so try something different.
So I search the cyberworld for assistance and found this site. At least, I got some improvement with the recommended setting you provided. In the meantime, i'll play with the setting and contact tech support again. Thank you, again.

First of all, don't give up on Englander Tech support....regardless of what may have happened before, they are still the best support in the business, IMO. Just try getting someone in Harman to even speak to you....they won't.

Next time you call, ask for Mike Holton personally......he is the Senior tech there and a great guy.

As for the settings, try 2-2-1, or even 3-2-1. The highest i've gone with the LBA is 2......don't want to send the heat through the stove too fast and up the exhaust. Every stove/exhaust setup/brand of pellet is different, so keep experimenting.

I have an Englander 25-PDV, installed myself last spring, and I've burned about 50-60 bags of Home Depot's premiums from last year. Just as the season was ending, my stove went from a rate of about 1 bag a day to nearly 3. The Englander tech guy advised setting my buttons to 3-5-1, but didn't explain how my burn rate may have suddenly changed. When I asked for more printed or published information about the 3 buttons, all I got was crickets. Do I need to do a hard reset, and if so, how is that done?
