The final Pennsylvania DEP outdoor wood-fired boiler (OWB) regulation was published in the PA Bulletin on October 2, 2010. The provisions of the regulation became effective on 10/2/2010. There is a sell-through provision for non-Phase 2 OWBs until May 31, 2011. However, any non-Phase 2 OWB sold between 10/2/2010 and 5/31/2011, must have a setback of 150 feet from the property line and have a permanently attached stack that is 10 feet above the ground and is installed according to manufacturer's specifications.
