I have pretty much made my final decision to buy the 5510 pellet stove. but Im just tryin to figure out is it ok to hook them up to my pre existing chimney pipe that was for my wood stove. I have read that you can do it but I want to know if its a smart idea? Any input from you veterans would be greatly appreciated. I hope have photos up soon.

Yes, it can be done. I did it when I took the wood stove out.....hooked into the 8" metalbestos pipe that went up through the roof, and it runs fine.

I did the same thing. It has worked fine for 15 years.
