I am new to this forums. I have been checking it out for the last few weeks.... and after much reading, all of you help me fix my stove. THANK YOU... I have had my stove for 4 yrs now, A St. Croix Prescott (LOVE IT) have really never had much internal problems with it. Ok have to interupt real quick, I dont know all the names for the parts so plz dont mind if i refer to some parts as that thingy-ma-bob thats round, or that gizmo with all the funky wires sticking outta it. The thingy-ma-bob in the back of the stove was making a god awful noise, so i had to take it apart and clean, oil it, ya know the thingy that has a motor in the middle and 2 fan blade thingys on each side. well after figuring out how to get it off and cleaned up,oil it and put it back on it runs nice and quiet agian :)
Well my point i guess is for the last month i couldnt get the stove to burn right. Big lazy black tipped flame, couldnt even burn on 3 without pellets backing up. was cleaning it every 2-3 days, and i mean really cleaning it. Taking tiles out, lil door things, bottle brush to get up everywhere, piece of bicycle brake cable to poke up in,where those door thingys are, and nothing. still burning like crap. Well i keep reading and reading and found the leaf blower trick in the exhaust pipe. So i firgured wth I'll give it a shot. I dont have a leaf blower but we do have a 16 gallon shop vac, and OMG it worked!!!!! So, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!
The pellet stove is my job, I clean it, i fill it, I load the pellets in our pellet shed in the fall, i maintain it!!!! and I LOVE doing it. I have bonded with it. LOL. so now im a lil over protective of it. LOL. My husband works nights so i like to let him sleep during the day and I do the cleaning, and with him being gone all night i like to know that if theres a problem with the stove, I can fix it!!! As a women i am proud to say i fix almost anything with my pellet stove :)
Thank You Guys!!!!
