There's one born every minute....

However, I do see a nice PE Vista starting at $399:

Does that model have a blower?

so what? why are some bothered by others' injinuity? do you think that we would be near where we are today without the great inventors and so on of the 20th and 19th centuries? would they have done what they did with people bitching and moaning about epa regs, safety etc ? while this "stove" and it's creator(s) may not reach even close to any level of "greatness", there is no need to be so condesending towards innovative individuals. i hope this site does not become a support group for individuals with condesending attitudes towards unconventional ideas. i would never put one of those on my house, however, i am sure that they may have they're place and may work well.

Ingenuity is not a factor here. Nor is a debate on "great inventor status" What this guy did is knock wood burning back the the stoneage. Now if he were doing some experimental new burn technology etc or atleast trying to make his unit up to par with current technology I could commend him then. There is nothing innovative about what he built and if someone wants to point out the obvious that's ok by me.

Sort of funny that the guy talks about safety as the main concern while we all know the chimney is going to be VERY close to the house structure.

I've seen a couple of these hot air units over the years - and while they may be OK for shop heating on a metal building in temperature climes, hot air is inefficient in most other situations.

Mine's better!

Hey, and only $649. shipping to the mid-west.

how about this one? not overly pretty (although it looks better without the camera's flash), like corie's but probably the only purpose-built bituminous burning stove that actually works well in N. america.
