Yes pretty wild the first time you see it....
 
Yep, Jay hit it. That is one wood that doesn't get brought home (yeah, yeah, I know it burns, blah, blah, blah). The stuff ignites and burns like loosely crumpled news paper. By the time you light it and close the stove door, it will be time to reload. :lol:

Jags is a Maple hatter! I will burn it.
 
Get it split and stacked QUICK or it will turn to punk in no time.

Nope. I likes me some of that hard maple stuff, mmmm, hmmmm.

Box elder is in the same place in my heart as willow. Do not want.

Ill use it for shoulder season burning and save my better wood for the dead of winter.

Does anyone have one those wood/btu's charts handy? I lost the one I had.
