Duly noted... Their R values are basically non-existent:

"Our hearth pads are listed by OMNI-Test Labs to UL standard 1618. The listing reads: the floor protector is equivalent to or exceeds 3/8" millboard with k=0.84."

That's a decent K (or R) value, BTW - pretty typical for most stoves.
