I have a OWB and am interested in installing an Electric Boiler for backup.
Has anyone found a good model. What size are you using.??

How many BTU/ hr do you need?

On small radiant jobs I have used a basis electric water heater. 4500 watts= 15,000 BTU/hr. An electrician can wire the tank so both elements fire at once for 30,000 BTU/hr. output. Increase the elements to two 6 KW each and get@41,000 BTU/hr.

Electric boilers are fairly simple a tank, elements and a few thermostat and high limit controls, not a lot of difference from brand to brand. I like the ElectroMN out of Minnesota. Small, quiet and a lot of size choices. Thermolec out of Canada is another good one. It comes with a basic outdoor reset function built in.
