Anyone try the new formula Gel Gloss Glass Wax Cleaner?

I was so impressed when I was young by the original glass wax in the pink metal can with the red swing up cap. However it was discontinued 40 years ago! I just learned that the same manufacturer has a new formula in a new plastic bottle! It is sold at Ace Hardware for $4.99 OnLine and some stores may have it in stock! Got 2 bottles and ran out to try it on my car windshield! Definitely better than anything else I ever used! Nothing is perfect but if applied and buffed off correctly it works very well. :-)

Rain-X seems to be falling out of favor. It can leave a transparent film on the glass that scatters light at nighttime or when the sun is low. I think this is because dust and dirt accumation in the days after application tend to stick to the rain-x, making it hard to remove. Folks are reporting they like Aquapel or Hydroview better. Some are using ceramic car paint coating (Gtechniq?) on the windows and cameras with success. I'm going to try that with some I have on hand (forgot the name of the product).

Well yeah, you have to buff it off completely. We still love rain-x but if there's a better product then that would be even better. We don't replace windshield wipers until they actually fall apart, the rainX works so well.
 
i just use my ceramic coating that i do every year to the truck. works better than any glass product i have ever used.
