Hey all,
I've got an electric splitter (Ryobi) that I really like, but it's time to move up to something a bit bigger and that I can tow with my tractor.

SO: besides the TSC Huskee splitter for $1k, any other options in the same area (other than used)?

Thanks,

S

I got a 27 ton Troybilt from Lowe's for <$1000. I had the 10% off coupon and asked the manager to knock off $100 because it was a returned unit. It had no wear on it though.

I've been happy with it. I think a 20 ton would also be fine.

ATB,
Mike

For most folks it seems to come down to either the Huskee/Speeco or the MTD/Troy-bilt/Cub Cadet/Ariens/Cloned splitter in the 22-ton range.

A splitter costs 1000$. If it was cheaper then I wouldn't be making due with the deadly unicorn. The good news and the bad news is that they hold their value very well so you may as well buy that new one.
