I have a lot of old unpainted 2x4s. Can I burn them safely?
Thank You,
Dennis Hershey

Hell yeah! Although burn them in moderation. I burn my leftover cutoffs from projects...they make great kindling. I'll even throw a larger piece or two in there from time to time. But I would not recommend burning a full load of them as they burn fast and hot. You can search this board for discussions on slabwood and see similar ideas/issues being discussed.

Thire great for starting the fire too

Save'em for late March/early April when most wood burners are starting to eye the wooden furniture as the woodpile goes away.
