So lets say I cant hook a leaf vac up to my vent, what is the alternative to cleaning it out. I am sure I am due for a thorough cleaning.

This is what i use: Linteater Works great!

I bought mine at Lowes, but not sure they still sell them.

Do you happen to have a step by step guide?

cleaning in general as well as using the lint eater to clean

Have a horizontal set up. At the T, I cut a hole the size of my vac hose,
and a little bigger to the one side so I could put in the brush and rod which
is connected to my cordless drill, and in and out, and the vent pipe ends
up as new in a very short time. I cut another piece of metal a little larger to fit over
the hole, four screws, a little gook, and I am done till next time.
Easy to remove, and go at it again....
