Question:

The steel liner that forms the firebox inside a masonry fireplace has corroded. The steel liner allow room air to be heated and return to the room. The air tubes below the damper also have pin hole due to corrosion. The steel box is not a Heailtor but I think it was manufactured by Heatform. Can the corroded upper section be replace without breaking and patching the 30 foot long brick wall that this 30-inch fireplace is built into.

Answer:

Talk to come local chimney sweeps. There are retrofits available, Bellfire is one brand that comes to mind, to do what you want.
