I have a crack in the side glass. If air can penetrate it, will it effect the performance

Yes and the crack is also a hazard, you shouldn't use the stove until that side glass is replaced.

A crack in the window glass will affect performance and is dangerous.
Once weakened, the internal stresses in the glass become unpredictable.
