Question:

I have been told that Poplar- when burned in a fireplace- gives off a bad smell. Have you heard anything like this? Thanks a lot for your help!

Answer:

If burned "hot" most of the smells are not there- they go up the chimney. Even outdoor smells can be lessened by burning hot--this means no smoldering fires- you want a flame on the fires -this is the key ! More information on proper burning can be found at the articles on our specific info page (see link at bottom of this page)
