hello again a couple years later! bought a new dwelling. big. geezers are supposed to downsize but I think that message went to spam. bigger is better, right? ok, now I'm in a 3400sq ft dwelling 2200 first/1200 second floor. I like the englander blue ridge 500, the drolet ht 3000 and osburn 3500. problem is my hearth opening is only 33" H, can't be modified, no other possible outlet for a stove pipe in the structure, and hearth has a glass door that brings access to flue down to 28". you see my problem. I can of course remove the glass door. most stoves exhaust at about 35" H and then you put the 90 degree elbow on top and well, ugh, no work. understanding the clearance from combustible issue and remedying that, can these pedestals be shortened to accommodate this scenario? can a stove be too low? sorry, may be a dumbarse question but I defer to you folks. especially the king o' the hearth, sir begreen. thanks!
