I'm trying to find the correct style handle for this wood stove. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

The stove was purchased in the late '70's

Vice grips? It looks like something generic might be adaptable.

Note that based on the picture, this is not a safe installation. The stove needs to have 36" clearance from any wood or other combustibles. The hearth is too narrow too.
 
Funny that you mentioned two things, that I've already taken care of! I have stove boards on both the back wall and the side wall ( which isn't shown in this picture) and I'm using vice grips!

That's an improvement. Is the stove board on 1" spacers so that there is an air gap behind it and 1" off of the floor? Truth be told it looks like there should be 2 or 3 stoveboards mounted side-by-side to cover the clearance requirement.
