Was loading the wagon full of wood when I noticed this above, is this an eagle?

Yup. The wing tips give it away.

Most times when one sees an eagle soaring you just about need binoculars to see them as they soar pretty darned high. Still, if you happen to be by a nest then you'd see them coming and going. We had one land in our yard a year ago. What a treat! I just happened to be standing looking out the window when he came in. Beautiful!

A couple years ago we also had one land at our neighbor's place and I thought it was blind but when it finally took off I knew it was not blind. But I do think its sight was a bit impaired. It was a young eagle as you can tell from the picture. btw, that picture was not taken with a zoom lense. I got within about 5-6 feet from the bird.
