I have cleaned out the stove very thoroughly and still, smoke comes out through the hopper, what could be causing this? any help would be great!

The Stove's Flu goes Directly Straight up through the roof with two 45's to create a small offset and is less then 3 weeks old, installed brand new.

Noticed the Smoke on the 5th fire, there's smoke when the auger isn't running, but stops when it starts

Please describe your venting and exactly when does the smoke come out through the hopper?

Is the vent in accordance with the installation manual? The older stoves were pretty dependent upon their venting also providing some of the draft.

Did you do a good cleaning of the combustion fan before firing the stove up?

What shape are the door gaskets in, once again I'm looking at things that hurt the draft.

Are there any air movers in operation?

Is the hopper closed?

Is this a positive pressure stove? IOW, does the combustion blower pull the exhaust out, or push fresh air into the burn chamber? That would make a difference in the diagnosis process.

The Earth stove uses a Postive pressure fire box with air being blown into the fire pot through the feed tube and a pipe around the tube.

Make sure that the draft fan is set to run all the time, if the draft fan shuts down during the time that the auger is not feeding you can get smoke out the hopper.

With a tall chimney you may be seeing the air mass in the upper reaches of the pipe cooling off and falling back down.

With the draft fan on all the time you should be fine.

The older control boards/stoves had a little switch on the board that would allow for several different positions to set the draft fan.

Off-When not feeding
Low- when not feeding
High all the time

The newer boards with just one knob did not give this control.

With the stove running, check the draft fan motor to be sure its running all the time, if not there is a problem as these stove really need air into the pot at all times to force the exhaust out.

If your control board says "Controller 2000" on the bottom of the face its the newer board and does not give any user controls on the fans, and its all done by the programing.

The bottom line though, is that the draft fan must be running all the time for things to work well.

Thanks For the Advice, I cleaned out the stove per owners manual. removed the baffle plate and cleaned off all the heat exchangers and removed the cleanout plate and cleaned that out. im going to run it some more tonight and see how it goes. as for the control board, it must be older. it has all the controls on it and says "Natural Fire" on it
