my neighbor wants to buy a stove and install it in his fireplace. can this be done with the englander? can you set this stove outside of the fireplace 90 out the top to a short piece and Tee then up the chimmney?
Thanks for all answers-Rusty

Yep, it can go in a fireplace so long as there is sufficient room. Englander has a 6 inch leg kit for sale on their site if you need to drop things down 3 inches from stock height.

If you do choose to pull it out from the fireplace, you'll have to make sure that you have plenty of hearthpad and follow all clearances. Also, if you pull it out, you could limit the draft of the stove since 90's are restrictive. Ideally, if there is a setup like that, you'd want a couple of feet of verticle rise before you made the 90 transition into the fireplace.

Coming directly off the flue collar with a 90 is not advised. It's asking for problems, especially if this is a single story chimney. If there are not clearance issues then going up vertical like pen suggested is a better plan. It can tap into the liner above the damper.
