Ive got to drop 23 feet of Selkirk metalbestos down my chimney. I have sealed the male ends of each 5 foot section and the 3 foot section of pipe but my concern is getting that all on the roof at once without the pieces disconnecting. Is there any for of clamp I can through on there? I've found some auto clamps online but I fear they will not be thick enough to keep that much weight from disconnecting.

Any advice or thoughts?

Thought of running a rope in the pipe and tying a tarp strap on one end or both to help make compression on the whole works? I know its hard to visualize without a picture

I like that idea, but I would use a disk of wood at each end with the tensioned rope passing through them. That way the ends of the pipes are protected during handling and the applied forces are all axial to the pipe. I might even put a groove in the wooden disk so that the pipe cannot slip to the side.

Good point, or use PVC pipe cap for easy threading down flue.

I got the 23 feet of rigid metalbestos pipe down my existing chimney and I have sealed each connection with high temp rtv silicone. Is there any reason I should just use 3M high temp tape on the inside of the house to disconnect and clean the pipe? I have a T on the inside and should be able to clean the pipe with a chimney brush through the clean out?

Thanks

You want the tape too seal the tee's clean out cap they tend to leak after being opened and re-closed several times. Also the saddle joint on the tee is noted for leaking.
