If you are tired of carrying your fashion axe around in your hands, good news:

Fashion Axe Sling

Positively medieval

Needs fringes and feathers.

I have to ask why anybody would want to carry their axe like that. If I wanted to huff it somewhere I'd strap it to a pack.

Matt

Another near useless idea . . . right up there with the high-winder expensive painted axs.

I only carry my throwing axes that way. Makes them easily accessible in the event I am ambushed by Indians while I'm out in the bush. :p

Seem like it was more for the forest fire fighter jmho.

Ja...those fire fighters that want a metro appeal to their uniforms.
Pic makes me think of a "man purse" gone mad :)

My first thought was, "if I'm hoofing it any such distance that I can't hand-carry, I'll likely have a backpack or something for water, food, 1st aid, and such. This is overkill."

And if socialism takes root in this country, all the manufacturer has to do is convince the right people in power that this is a good idea. Pretty soon they're spending $3,000,000,000,000 in taxes on axe slings and "giving" them to us po' folk who couldn't afford what we need.

I really should have looked over the website more closely . . . it would have explained things . . . this is the same company that sells the over-priced fancy-schmancy painted ax handles . . . apparently folks who are taking their axes off the wall for show and tell have a need to carry their ax in a manner that says, "Hey, look at me and my fancy schmancy ax that I spent a whole lot of money on . . . don't I look mighty rugged? Now, where's my latte . . . and could someone call up Jeeves to see if he can't arrange a delivery of more of that kiln-dried firewood for my summer cottage so I don't actually have to break out in a sweat."

Nah . . . I sometimes use an ax for interior firefighting . . . but if I'm doing any wildland firefighting my choice of tools would either be a chainsaw or pulaski . . . and in either case I certainly will not be wearing a get up like that to hump it into the fire . . . I'm either riding in or carrying it in my hand.

I don't know . . . do you think it would clash with the bright yellow nomex shirts we're issued? ;) :)

It's for carrying around New York City for those high-power business meetings and corporate take-overs and will fit over an Armani suit. Because you just never know when you will find free wood.

Or I suppose if someone gets too caught up in their World of Warcraft game and is convinced that they really are a Dwarf Magus of the 11th power and need to carry around their battle ax while masquerading as a businessman. ;) :)
