Looks like I found a great supplier for cords of oak. I've been checking craigslist and on friday took delivery of what was supposed to be a half cord. The 2 women dropped it and were off and I began stacking. I didn't measure it out but by the way it looked it was about 6'x3'x2' and alot of small stuff but well seasoned. I began burning that cord right away and this morning loaded the last of it in the stove. A half cord in 4 days?!?!?!?

Today I tried another seller and a total score!! As he dumped I could see some good sized splits in there and when it hit the driveway it had that familiar sound as it hit the concrete. I picked up a good sized split and it was nice and light.

Started burning it a few hours ago and can already feel a difference in the heat output. Checked the pipe up on the roof and hardly any smoke, just a small puff every 5-6 seconds.

I wonder how many cords I can fit on my 1/2 acre :)

Put it wherever you can, and keep it coming. Get creative. Holzhausen, heapenhausen, stackenhausen, lotsawoodahausen. Just do it.
I'd do the math, but then my brain would hurt, so you're on your own.
