I have read in here about some putting fire brick in the bottom of these boilers. Is it worth doing? What are the bennies.

From what I have read it is to attempt to raise the firebox temperature. With higher interior temp the operators are trying to get more complete combustion.

Central boiler had people remove the firebrick from their gasification boilers. It would be interesting to know exactly why but I think I read on arboristsite that it was corrosion related behind the fire brick.
