It's supposed to be in the 90's today here in Maine but since I had my new stove hooked up yesterday I couldn't resist starting a little fire in it. I burned a couple hand fills of oak scraps I collected from around the splitter. Stove top was warm but not to hot. Didn't really get any smell from the paint but I'm sure I will when I get a little bit of a bigger fire going.

It was great to see flames in the new stove but I didn't keep it going long since the last thing I need right now is more heat.

Congrats Albert . . . on both the stove and being a certifiable stove nut to do a burn in this weather! ;) :)

That is a fine lookin' machine!

Thanks! I think I may have gone with the natural wood handle if I had a choice but I do like the all blacked out look anyway.

The stove pipe is from my old stove and will be replaced soon with new welded pipe.
