Pellets are variable in quality, batch to batch and year to year.
What burns great for one person may be lousy for another.
Best to find what works for you and ride it's wave as long as you can.
Buy in small 2-3 bag quantitys until you find one you like.

Yup, I picked up some reported to be not so good, and I was surprised that they worked well in my stove.
