hey there, recently purchashed a kozi pellet stove, and had to tear it all down to clean it out and attemp a repair....my question is this...when i was taking apart the blower motor from the exhaust tube flange....the gasket fell apart....was wondering if i could use some sort of generic gasket to replace it or make my own...the material appears to be some sort of high temp fabric or something....lowe's maybe?

The material is called Lytherm. Its hard to find locally. Maybe a stove shop??

It does 2 things, Obviously seals with thermal protection. But it also isolates the motor vibrations from the stove.

googled links:

woodheatstoves.com sells it by the square foot.

Keep us posted if you do find any locally!

EDIT!

Awhh! smw beat me too it!

Any decent Plumbing/Heating supply should carry it, or something equivalent.

What you want is a high temp gasket material. Preferably CCF type gasket which is Compressed Ceramic Fiber.
You can buy it from Amazon.com for a 10"X10" sheet for $10. Called Spectre 656.
Local places don't usually carry this material.

For those in MA, South Shore Oil in Brockton MA has the ceramic fiber paper good to 2300 F. They have it in 24" x 16" sheets (approx.) and they are 1/8 inch thick. The stuff is made in Lynne MA. Here is a link to their site. http://www.lynnmfg.com/index.html. It cost me 20 bucks for two sheets and I can get upwards of 8 gaskets per sheet. Because it is the 1/8" stuff and not the 1/4" stuff I have to double it. I figure on pulling my burn pot once a year to give it a good cleaning and painting, so the gaskets should last me some. I think the exhaust gasket is the same material on my stove but I have not had to replace it. Oh, I have a CB1200i by Quadra-Fire.
