Has anyone used the cast iron hearth pad with the accentra freestanding pellet stove?

I have purchased this pad and stove (still waiting for them though...sigh). I liked the look since it was more minimalistic than the other hearthpads I have seen. I wanted to know if there were any opinions on them, if you had troube from the local codes and or insurance on your pellet stove and if it has done the job of protecting wood floors.

Thanks

For what it is worth, neighbor has one and is on wood floor and he said no problem with his insurance or code, but I am sure it is all dependent on your particular town/city codes and your insurance company. He has his for 3 years and no problem with his floor.

Our's came with the stove it was a package deal, pad vent pipe and 1/2 ton of pellets. But I think I will some day put the stove on a bigger platform, probably keeping the orginal pad, I too like the look. But when you open the door it swings beyond the pad and some dust spills on the floor, ours is on carpet. I had no problem with the inspection but if I had to do it over again I would use a bigger platform.

I have one. My stove sits on carpet and it seems to work just fine. I just wish it was about 4" larger in front. Opening the door allows ash on the door to fall on the carpet.

I wanted to get that pad with mine but the local stove dealer said that in Wi you still have to have ceramic under the stove to keep it in code. I'm not sure if he was blowing smoke my way or not so I ended up making one out of tile slightly larger than the Harman one.
