I have a Harman Advance that is about 14 months old . I clean it every week or 2 very thoroughly . Had my dealer come and clean 2 months ago . Lately the feed control dial does not seem to be responding accurately . The stove feeds to much or to little randomly and does not respond to dial changes.

TODAY I CAME HOME AFTER BEING GONE ONLY 5 HOURS AND THE ASH PAN WENT FROM ALMOST EMPTY TO COMPLETELY FULL TO THE TOP OF THE BURN POT WITH HALF BURNED PELLETS THERE MUST BE 30-40LBS OF HALF BURNED PELLETS IN THERE

WHAT IS GOING ON?????????????????????

Sounds like an issue w/ the control board, is it still under warranty? Might want to check w/ your dealer. (your STOVE dealer, that is)

yes it has a 6 year warranty. that's my guess too

Need more info...
What are the controls set at
Feed
temp
stove or room temp
ignitor switch manual or auto
any status light codes
type of pellets
vent configuration
and last describe your cleaning regimen....
I would think dirty stove first........

room temp
72deg
feed rate 4.5
auto
Fuel King pellets
Selkirk strait out vent
i scrape burn pot and heat exchangers every week, full clean every other- front , back inside, out full disassembly of panels
dealer had me remove flapper in air intake and full clean again
the feed control seems very hard to control to maintain 1"of ash on lip . always use same pellets (same load 4 ton) stove burns 24/7 soley heating 1700 sqft house with 14 ft vaulted ceilings have burned 120 bags of pellets since 11/1/8

Look at the Status light to see if it's blinking. If it is, it is blinking a repeating series of blinks. That's a code for whats wrong with your stove. Post the number of blinks here.

For my Advance, when my ESP was bad, I was getting slow to no ignition, cooler temps with the stove, and general poor performance.

The only way to maintain the 1" ash lip would be to have it on stove temp with a steady feed rate, otherwise the control board will adjust feed rate to maintain the room temp...
I would tend to agree with yardbird that the ESP could be bad, or bent.......Or combustion blower dieing, which would be why the pellets are partially burnt (airflow issue), you're auger was running at 4.5 which will push pellets for 45 seconds every minute till you're room temp is satisfied, then the control board will take over...so roughly 5 lbs an hour 25 lbs seems about the amount to fill the ashpan
Have the dealer bring his DDM to be sure.........Otherwise I'm just guessing......

Thank you Pyro
