On my harman advance stove the convection fan starts/shuts off every minute or two then stays on for 5 minutes and does it again. I’m not always in the room where I have the stove so I’m not sure if this is normal or not? Guess I’ve never noticed. Is the convection fan made to stay on continuously while the stove is on or is there a temperature sensor that controls it ? I know that it does switch from low to high but never noticed if it completely shuts off when running. And if I need a new one is there any aftermarket fans that are decent ? Thanks for any help

Are you running the stove in room temp or stove temp mode?

Room temp, that’s the only way I’ve run it since I bought it.
In room mode the convection blower could shut off, at the same time it slows the pellet feed, if you have continuous burn mode on. On the dial/switch boards that is when we put the igniter switch in manual. The other mode Room Mode-Igniter On, it will shut the stove off, and re-light it later.

So I have it on Auto igniter and room temp now. So if I want it to shut off on its own and reignite on its own then I need to switch the igniter to manual ? I don’t have a manual for the stove and I can’t remember anything anymore lol. It used to shutoff on its own and restart when it needed to but it hasn’t done that in years. Something on the control panel must’ve been switched years ago. I’m blaming it on the wife lol

No the other way around. In auto it thinks you want the stove to operate in "Auto" and shut off. You are in the right mode. It still may turn the room blower down though, and turn the feed down, but then if that does not work it will shut off. In winter in my basement I run Room, off (manual) as I always need some heat.

Ok thanks, so if I put it on constant burn with the igniter set to auto it never shuts off and I would have to adjust the temperature control manually because the thermostat won’t work on constant burn correct?

Constant burn = stove mode. It will always stay on. The igniter switch in that mode is for using the igniter to light it, or lighting it with a torch. The switch has different functions depending on what mode you are in.
For Room Mode (thermostat) put the switch down to have it keep going (the mode I use in winter)

Thanks for the help, I may just order a new fan to have in case it stops working. I’ll read that post 👍🏻
