sorry for noticing something most may already know but
holy hell, that grill insert for the top load slot is incredible.
hope some engineer got a nice bonus for that idea.
is there any chance that try fits my intrepid ?

Also available on the Harmon TL300. I suspect it would not work for the Intrepid or other cat stoves.

dang... well naturally i wouldnt engage the cat..... but it wouldnt fit huh?
i'm trying to find dimensions somewhere.

For me that is the main reason why I chose the TL-300 over the Quad Isle Royal.

Cooking burgers over the fire when its -20 outside is a real plus.

THAT'S IT!! THAT IS IT!!

I just found the Harman Oakwood and it is the one I want. Has a rear vent that comes in under the limit, right profile and all PLUS top loading, warming shelves, GRILL, even a rotisserie AND non-cat. Cook top, YESSSS! Just what we want--unless someone can show me a better one that does the same or more.

Could all you Oakwood owners send me some photos of your stoves and installs on PM so I can show Lynda? I have not seen the accessories, except the grill. If anyone has the rotisserie and can shoot me a photo, I'd be much obliged. I think it's a done deal with L--all but the payin' for it! Speaking of which, how much do these babies set you back?

I can just taste those burgers in the dead of winter now. (Won't be able to afford steaks after buyin' th' stove, but we WILL be warm!)

You sound like I felt 6 mos ago, and I sure can't show you a better one that does the same or more. I got mine used for about half what a new one cost (like $2400), but it needed some work. It did not have the grill, so I ordered one a few months back and it finally arrived - picking it up next week.

The fact that Harman had the grill in stock is the good news - the bad news is they ain't got no stoves in stock! So start looking real hard if you want those burgers this winter.

Will get some pics soon if I can ever find the camera.

Thanks, photos will be much appreciated!

Anybody want to sell one or know where I can get one? Is there a place on Hearth.com to post a Want Ad? I maybe could trade for some wood. I'll know in a few days if I've secured between 500,000 and 1,000,000 lbs. of ~50 year old oak in 20" 4 x 4 lengths for the hauling, which will likely take at least seven years.

We just bought a TL300, but debated over the Oakwood. Our dealer had 3 Oakwoods, only one was sold. It is in Almont, MI

Congrats on the new stove!!

Can you post some pics of it when you get it up and running?

I was admiring one yesterday at a showroom in Rutland, VT. Nice stove. He told me @ $2300.

Yes, I will post pictures- We should have it installed in 3 weeks! We were lucky to get a show model which was cheaper and it comes with the stainless steel kit and grill. I'm still not sure about the grill- seems messy, but I'm sure we will try it!

I'm sure you could fabricate one yourself. Just buy a cheap grill replacement and cut it down to fit. After your stove burns down to the coal stage open bypass and try it out.

I've had my oakwood since 2003. I knew they made a grill for it, and it sounded like a good idea, but I never got around to ordering it. Then I found the hearth and read the rave reviews of the oakwood and the cooking grill. We made venison burgers tonight, wow. It's fast and they had an excellent flavor, just a little smoky. I can't believe I wasted 6 years without the grill. Tomorrow night will try a loin (back strap) roast.
