Hello all, just registered here after reading forums for a while. I have a pelpro pp130 in our house and bought a well used heatilator ps35 for my small 20x40 shop.

My issue is the ps35 will start if i fill the pot manually, and it will feed pellets and run. What happens is it doesn’t feed enough to keep the blower on. I have adjusted the pot on the board both ways to try and get the feed rate to increase, and it seems to me it activates the auger enough but more often than not it runs the auger but no pellets come out.

I removed the auger assy and cleaned it and made sure the auger barrel is clear of obstructions. I have the slider wide open. The pellets i use are the purheat that menards sells, i have tried a different brand from tractor supply but there was no difference.

To recap it does run, but will not feed enough pellets even after adjusting feed rate. I suspect it’s something to do with the spring type design of the auger, but this stove clearly worked in the past.

I have the slider wide open
Are you talking about gate in bottom of hopper?

Try taking auger out again and putting a little white lithium grease inside the nylon bushing/bearing it might be sticking.

Try "jumping" the hopper and the vacuum switches one at a time. If either switch is going bad it might be stopping feed momentarily
Also if stove is momentarily losing vacuum (Gaskets leaking) the vacuum switch could be stopping pellet flow.

The pressure switch is permanently bypassed. Yes, the slider in the hopper. The auger isn’t stopping, I have spent quite some time monitoring it while it’s running to verify that.

I am left with either a pellet issue (too large) or something with the auger design combined with pellet issue. I have noticed this year the pellets are not broken up as much and are quite long. The pp130 has no issues feeding them, but it has a different style auger.

I will try lubing it though just to rule something else out.

I should also mention I am a hvac tech,

Might not be stopping completely but might be pausing. Does your stove have the hopper switch? Can you try bypassing that?
i can. i have it bypassed on our main stove since i am the one who fills it and usually leave it open while i bring bags in.

it’s currently 1f here with -20 windchill, I will check these things as soon as i can.
