From the companies website.

Oregon just an Awesome machine. Maxx(good grinder but not a ax or 511a) gets there crowd from the people who think you need a reversible motor camp to do the backside cutter. (silly) ax or 511a can be set up that way pretty easy but just not needed.
The chain vise for the maxx is not near as nice as the ax nor is there a hydro ast for it. Oregon is even cheaper in price, just a very well made and proven machine even in very high output.

I had one of those back when we ran feller buncher. Highly recomended !!
32" loops of 404 with a file is out of the question!!!! I'd usually dull 2-3 loops a day. Not severely dull but you wanted tip top shape cutters on a feller buncher so you could "sabre" a tree and kept butt pull to a minimum.

You talking about a maxx or ? lol, Milling there smoooth with a 511 and thats what your looking for. Cant say what happens on a feller buncher but would bet I would be done for the year before I felt Butt Pulling! :cheese:

What was the damage for that sweet machine?

Oh, crap you know the drill! If you have to ask? J/k cant really get around it when milling. 1000 drive links at a time is not uncommon. :cheese:

It's more about having space for it than the cash I think- I got a good tablesaw and other stuff that I need to unload.

I really don't need it, but you know how it is with toys

I traded a new ms 180 for one. :cheese:

Smokin, the Oregon H/D bench grinder with hydraulic assist is in, looks like I'll pick it up tonight after work. I have some chains that need sharpening so it's good timing.

Whats your top made of?

I went and bought a new loop of Stihl chain for my saw. The depth gauges were so low that it would be serious work to revive that chain. Live and learn. I forgot how cheap chain is- $20 for my 18" bar! Sheesh.

Not only can ya buy happiness- it's damn cheap

The top of the work table or the grinder, if your talking about the grinder I'll find out when it gets pulled from the box, the work table is plywood.
