Husqvarna 357 xp gave up on me. Is it worth to revive it?

Not a big specialist , but it looks like crank shift broke on my favorite toy. I don’t know the age of the saw. Got it on Craigslist and was using for three years . Cut about 30 cords with it . Paid $150 , which was a steal.
So, is this a crankshaft assembly replacement?
Is it even worth it.? Part run about 300 online. And I can see it's not an easy task.

Its junk, send it to me. Lol. Anything is fixable as long as the block is good. It just depends on how much you want to spend. It's not that hard to put a crank in a saw and rebuild it. It just takes time.

Check out hlsupply.com for parts. That's who I use for husqvarna parts. If you take the saw to a dealer, they will say its junk and to buy a new one. If you are a do it yourselfer, it would be a fun project. You really get to know a saw when build one.

I have a heated handle model with a bad crank big bearing
I had a parts saw with a good crank
It is an easy job to change the crank if you have mechanical skillzz.
If not buy another saw the same and use the broke one for parts.
Or sell the broke saw and replace it with a saw you want to try.

I’d say you got your money’s worth out of it. A fun project it could be, but time is worth something. I’d vote for a new or used saw and keep for when you want a project (or junk it sell it).

I have almost new Husqvarna 460, which is 60 cc homeowner saw. I’ll use it for now. And may be will rebuild this one in a winter.

I think the new husky saws in the same size category are good and peppy. I’m switching to stihl in that size only because full wrap bar , double dawgs and 3/8’s chain. Going to miss the good filter system though

Never done work like this . The most I did was changing or cleaning carburettors.
May be I’ll buy the used part and try it in a winter

I have a 460 and aside from being a bit overweight it does a good job. The 357 is probably a bit lighter, but the 460 probably has a little bit of power over it.

Used 460 it all day yesterday, right after using 375 xp.
Feels like more power . More weight . More vibration. But not too bad overall.

I only use mine when I have to.

300$ is about half way to brand new 550 with a warranty. Aftermarket would be my choice.

I use the 460 for felling trees and cutting to mill length. For bucking smaller logs into firewood I use a super light Stihl MS-150 top handle. For logs over 10" I also use the husky, but most logs that size are going on the mill.

A new saw would be good too. The 550xp is an awesome saw. Light weight and plenty of power. However, I am not sold on the autotune though. It's nice in one way but can be a little finicky.
