There has been some pretty interesting conversations here about the TEG technology. If you are interested you might want to search for some of the older threads.

Make an add-on for a wood stove to generate enough power for some/most house needs, and I'm in. At a reasonable price.
Gotta' run the stove anyway.

The problem with the TEG is maintaining the temp differential from one plate to the other. After a while - without external cooling the TEG will come to a balanced temp from plate to plate and quit producing until you allow the stove to cool again (or external cooling). Even with external cooling the energy needed to cool the TEG is just about as much as the TEG will produce. Long term it is essentially self sufficient and not much more. Short term they are pretty neat stuff. Like the little biolite stove above.
