unfortunately, i was not first on the Facebook list. maybe next time! are they good stoves?

They're very good stoves as long as you have a UL placard on the back (for insurance) installed properly, have a baffle put into it to slow the fire down / complete the burn so all the particles / heat doesn't flow up and out the chimney. and use dry wood to fire it.
Keep in mind that these older stoves (yours is literally 40yrs old) are way less efficient then todays stoves, so for the same amount of heat your burn times maybe only 4 - 5 hours, where a new stove same size is 8-12+ hrs burn per load, thats the difference from burning 3-4 full cords per season from 7-10 full cords.

The stove pictured is a Papa Bear I.

It is not a UL Listed stove. Fisher stoves built without angle iron corners will have a UL label required for your state building codes. The front corners are rounded and bent. This was built just before the 1980 revision, one of the last with flat top door. They were tested, but before the UL Standard testing criteria was written and accepted nationwide.

The way to determine if this model is a Papa or Mama is the space between door and corners. Notice the inch or so of front plate visible between door and angle iron corner. This is due to the same door used on both stoves. The Papa is wider, so the front plate has space to angle iron. It is wider from door to corner. Mama will not have this face plate showing, the angle iron corner comes right up to the door.

To learn about the models and how to tell what they are, start with the Everything Fisher thread in sticky section at top of the Fisher Forum page. There are threads for the single door Bear Series and double door Fireplace Series for more info on each model.
