What is the opinion of Indeck Energy pellets? I have not seen them discussed here before so had not even heard of them. Woodpellets.com has a $199 special right now. Good deal or not?

I have yet to see a retailer that has them. I wanted to give them a whirl myself, But just can't fing them anywhere locally. Maybe call them to see if they can give you a local retailer that is carring them. This way you could give them a try.

If you try calling woodpellets.com they might have a better list as they use local dealers to deliver the pellets to you. I asked about LG's last season and they had a dealer in Hardford. I wasn't going that far out of the way. But this season they did send a bag by UPS to the doorstep for me to try. Tell them no large purchase without a triel and maybe you can get them to send you some?? Doesn't hurt to ask!
I did an "online chat" with woodpellets.com a little while ago. The only place they have bags available is at their offices in Goffstown, NH. That's more than an hour from me, so not going to happen.
Same boat as me, Well we'll see them sooner or later! Hopefully someone will post the burn info for you! Somebody has to have burned them somewhere?
I burnt the indeck brand pellets last year with good results! They are about the best i have found except for the pine and fir pellets i have tried. Just went and picked up another ton tonight at menards for $188.50 to add to the stash from last year and for the super cold spells i will be picking up a ton of uncle jeds tomorrow.
I burned some Indecks last year and had mixed results, some bags good and some bags with buildup in the ashpot after 12 hours or less. I mean that the buildup in the ashpot was up to the top... meaning a shutdown and ashpot cleaning after 12 or less hours instead of a usual 36-48 hours for a cleaning of the ashpot along with the ashpan, etc. Some stretches of burning were better in the ashpot buildup. Well, I bought 4 tons of Indecks for this winter and I'm disgusted with the mixed results. I have about 3 tons left and have to be a watchdog in what the quality is. It's not going to be a good experience burning this pellet. I might get 2 tons of Wood Fibers Inc. so I can go for a day and not worry if my stove will shut down. Does anyone else have this problem with the Indecks?
I had the pleasure of buring some INDECK pellets. They burnt really nice for the price. Good amount of heat with normal to low ash amount. In Wisconsin they are some of the better pellets available here except for Unlce Jeds. My problem is that some Menards stores carry Indeck and some carry that horrible terrible ash filled crap pellet Pennywise and any store by me has pennywise so i am kinda stuck with them.

I have been burning them in a Bixby mixed half and half with corn. And 100% in a Harman PC45. Can't complain to much as it works without problems. I usually burn just corn so haven't had much experience with pellets.

I find Indeck pellets to burn just fine in my Santa Fe. The heat output is just a tad less than Uncle Jed's, and way more than Wood Fibers Inc.
I have 2 tons of Indeck in my garage, and would love to get rid of them. I have had mixed results too. Some bags really hot others not hot. The pellets have bark in them. I have experienced the ash buildup in the burn pot, and it scares the hell out of me. I had the pot fill up with "ash" in under 2 hours, and I mean it was almost to the top of the burn pot. I have to turn my stove on low to burn the "ash" back down in the burn pot. It is not ash that is building up in the burn pot. Its a black sandy substance, that will smolder for a long time. When i shut the stove down and it totally turns off the black ash will continue to smolder for up to 30 minutes. Last night my burn pot was 1/4 full of this sandy black ash in just 30 minutes of burning. It seems to be worse from bag to bag. I am not pleased with them and would not recomend them to anyone.

I think the black sandy ash is the bark left over from the pellet burning and once the good saw dust is burned off the left over bark continues to smolder. As more pellets drop in, the smoldering bark continues to build up. I am mixing them with good pellets to get rid of them. I will never buy them again.
I will sell mine to anyone willing to pick them up, at my cost. I bought these from my dealer and am not happy, and have complained to the dealer. I hope he finds a different brand to sell next year.
My advise to anyone on here - DON'T BUY THEM
