I feel I have made a bad decision...well after some research(which I should have done before) I know I did. I purchased a fireplace with about a 50% efficiency. I want something that will be a reliable source of heat, give a warm place when the power goes out, and lower my heating bill. The sc42a by Majestic probably won't get it done (it might but I doubt it). Could I exchange the firebox for an insert? I will try the 50% fireplace for a while and see what happens but if I am not satisfied or my bill is not decreased, I will go a different direction. A smaller insert could fit right into the sc42a correct or will their have to be more changes....chimney sysytem, piping, etc.
