Good article. It reflects my own thoughts on why I heat with pellets as opposed to natural gas, even though the cost is nearly the same now.

I also heat my garage with wood. I feel that I do some small part in forest protection by removing dead fuels from the forest.

It's a good article, but it's main idea leaves you pellet guys out on a limb. If there is a quick rush to buy pellet stoves you'll have a shortage like what happened maybe 4 or 5 years ago where people couldn't buy pellets for $350+ a ton. Guys who buy their wood would almost be in the boat, but they can always find their own wood by taking down a tree, scrounging, etc.

Overall, I think both sources of fuel are limited due to storage and the amount of work moving it. That automatically keeps a lot of people from using it. But that's fine with me. It keeps my costs down.

I find it comical that a few individuals beleive a wood stove will only heat a small house. The one at our familys cabin will heat up over 2000 square feet without even trying let alone in a newer home with decent weatherization.

OK, I read the article!
