I found an Intrepid stove for sale and wanted to get some info. on them. The stove is about 4 years old so would that make it a cat or non, a 1 or a 2? What is the firebox size on these, how about BTU size. Would this be too small for 1000 sq feet? Any input would be appreciated. Merry Christmas

My intrepid holds 16" logs & can heat my 1000 sq ft, but overnite
burn isn't long enough 5-6 hours. When it's in the teens hard to keep the home toasty.
It's nc

I have an Intrepid in the garage. Good heat, but it has a small box. A small room or parlor stove. I think, however it could warm 1000 sq. feet.

If the Intrepid is only 4 years old it would be a model 1990 catalytic. Firebox size is approx 1.3 cu ft. A good little heater, I recently replaced a pellet stove in my basement with a cat Intrepid and it does a fine job. Firebox is a bit small, just requires shorter splits and more feedings than the big boys.
