We installed a new evolution this year.Sometimes though it won't light after you push the on button. If i push it off and back on again then it lights ok.It doesn't do it all the time though.I just cleaned it yesterday so i know it's not dirty. It lit fine last night and again this morning.I had shut it down when i left this morning and came back a couple hours later and tryed to start it but it just droped pellets and wouldn't light again until i pushed the on button on and off again.

Odd that its doing that. Usually its only hit or miss when you run it out of fuel. 2 things you could try.

1.) Just before you start it. Do a quick pot scrape. also make sure there is no blocked holes including the igniter hole.

2.) Damper could be mis-adjusted. Set the stove properly with a magnihelic gauge

If #1 corrects the issue there is a high ash pot available that reduce's this to a good degree.

Keep us post!

I'm leaning towards the pellets. If i start it with the damper full open it seems to fire up ok.Im burning pellets left over from last year and where they were stored all summer it got a little humid in there.

Try some fresh ones and see how it goes. If all is well. You can mix the problem pellets with some good ones to finish them off. Start with 50/50 mix.

Keep ius posted!

It was the pellets.I've changed pellets and it will start everytime now.
