Found some Hardhack/Ironwood in the same area I winched down the Cherry.

Looks like good firewood with that thin bark.. Was it dead I see it's already checking..

Beautiful hard wood. Makes a great bed of coals.

Yes, I think it was down for about one year. I dropped a Beech in that area in Dec 09 thats when I noticed it down.

Looks like some nice heat for next winter. You've been pretty busy. I envy you folks for having this nice small diameter hardwood available. It's totally human scale and handle-able by one person.
 
That is one of the best things about having a young woods. Easy to handle wood like that.
