The top photo shows the bolt position when the stove was newly installed on April this year. The bolt head was flush with the surface.
The bottom photo was taken last night, and now the head of that bolt is sticking out about 0.5 inches above the surface.
I’ve only been opening and closing the door normally and adding wood—no extra force, no banging, nothing else done to the door or the bolt.
What could have caused the bolt to “grow” upward by half an inch?
Should I just take a hammer and knock it back flush right now? I’m worried that if I leave it alone, in a little while the bolt circled in red will completely work its way out and the door will literally fall off.
I’d really appreciate it if anybody could help figure out what’s going on and what I should do. Thank you!

Tap it down back in place
Thank you so much for so quickly response ! will do it in the morning. by the way, why "growing" itself in 2 months burning? is this a regular problem for Jotul F55 V2?
After I get it tap it down back tomorrow, what should I pay attention to in the future to prevent it from growing back again?

A dot/drop/ pinch of white lithium grease will help. They're "drop-in hinge pins" I usually give mine a drop of 3-1 oil during the off season. Don't want anything too flammable close to a fire! Or wait till you have a cool down day for cleaning and do it then. Clean up any excess.

My jotul f400 used to do that sometimes.
And the roll pin that holds the handle on pushes itself out all the time. I need to tap it back in with a heavy split maybe once a month.

Well ya made me get off the couch to check my F45 hinges for the first time. My pins are still flush.... the F45 has been in service for 6 years. The door is a little squeaky this year tho'....

Does this work?
