I have to line a brick chimney. I know a stainless liner should be used and then pourable insulation should be poured around it. The problem is of course, the cost. I have 32 ft of single wall brick chimney. Inside diamater is 13 by 21. Plenty of room for a liner. My old 502 tarm boiler requires 8 by 8 so I think 7 inch round will be the right size. Almost $1300.00 beans for material.
I have heard of an inflatable tube and insulation but where do you get the tube?
Can I insert regular smoke pipe down the shaft and insulate around that?
Are there any alternatives?
