Log 18 ID, Looks Like Maple - Sugar, Norway?

Pretty heavy for it's size and got long chips off the saw. Greyish bark and kind of thin. Nice white color.
What do you think?

Hard to Tell. I'll say Norway. I'd expect the bark on Red or Sugar to be a bit narlier. Does look a bit Beechy though.
 
Doesn't look like any of the Norway I get around here, even the smaller limbs have an ash like bark pattern. There are over a hundred maple varieties though and I've never gotten a Norway out of a wood lot so who knows. Looks like a hard maple though, you've had a pretty good variety out of that grapple load.

Not Norway, I say red or Sugar, and since others say Sugar then maybe it is Sugar. Norway Maple has a ridged bark that looks a lot like Ash.
