1000% White Oak. Note the obvious medullary(radial) rays. while hickory has them they will not be that pronounced.
 
I'm think'n white oak too.

White Oak. You can see the medullary rays in the sixth picture that shows a close up of the end of a round. White Oaks often have bark that looks a lot like Shagbark Hickory, but they never get as shaggy as the shaggiest Shagbarks. Those rays are found in all oaks and are a good way to separate oaks from other woods.

Most have different appearances in bark,leaf shape,shape/size of acorns & their caps etc.....Yes,quite a few varieties in White Oak group.All that are cut for lumber are just lumped in together as White Oak.

Bur Oak,Post Oak,Swamp White Oak,Overcup Oak,Chestnut Oak.......
