I have a question on bypass ops. I am burning pine and get a great fire going. Close the bypass. Get good second burns and stove stays at 500. Do I need to open bypass when I go to bed and fire burns out ? I've been leaving closed. Wood is all burned up when I check in morning. Thanks. T.

Nope. Just leave it closed if you're getting a good secondary burn.
