I have a Mt Vernon insert and removed my exhaust vent to clean and replaced it installing a new gasket. On the Mt Vernon insert there are two clips that hold this assembly down to the exhaust blower. I now have a smoke leak upon startup when the box is full of smoke. The leak appears to be coming from between the plates (vent pipe assembly to blower). As stated, I installed a new gasket so I can't figure out how this is now leaking unless it always did and I never noticed it. However, I don't think there should be any smoke leaking. Anyone have this problem or suggestions for remedying the problem?

Thanks

red rtv silicone, not alot, on each side of the gasket. Get it at a auto parts store or hardware store
