Suggested on the Hydroflex 60 is $4,999. From what I heard it is an awesome unit but you have to watch the sqft. I have not sold one.

Eric

Hello

Thanks again Eric. Agree on the SqFt. Larger homes would need the Harmon 105 BTU PB105 Pellet Boiler.

$5K is still kinda steep considering I got the 110K BTU Buderus G115WS/4 for $1200 from The Granite Group less the NH State rebate check of $600.

So $600 plus burner, outdoor reset, plumbing parts and some labor!

Only a "pig" would consider such a appliance.

Unless I heard wrong (I am hearing impaired) , did she say she heated her 5 bdrm house and hot water with one ton last year ?

That is just a hair over 51,000 BTU unit.

Thermal efficiency of H2O is much better than air...

HF60= 60K btu...

Our house is 2800 sq ft, + basement. HF60 has no problem keeping up. Now, if you have it heating your DHW and some radiant floors, etc. then the PB100 would be the way to go. For most houses, the HF60 will be fine.

That is awsome!

How many pellets do you use in a season?

Do you use the HF60 for DHW? If not what do you use for DHW?

the one on the 2nd video looks just like the Enviro Omega..

About 4.5 - 5 ton, depending on weather, etc..

Nope, I use this: http://www.stiebel-eltron-usa.com/tempra.html

Haven't bought propane since 2008. HF60 will have paid for itself this year.

Electric instant tankless hot water heater, how much more do you spend in electricity with this, I thought about putting one of this.
How much is it installed?

You heard correctly. She said she used about one ton last winter.
Guessing the winter there is not that cold.

If she is in England the winters there up until recently have been rather mild and if my friend in Wales place is representative of the common houses they are rather small in room sizes.

I do believe that things have gotten a lot colder this year.

Also there is more than just that pellet boiler doing the heating if that diagram is any indication.

Electricity cost is a little less than what we would've spent on propane, but not being indentured to the gas pushers is worth it. It's great if the house will be sitting idle, or if the demands aren't high. I wouldn't recommend it for a family of 6 though, as the cost savings would be negligible at best.

Price has gone up in the 2 years since I installed mine, but all told you can probably have it installed for less than $1000. (I did mine own, it's not that hard, 3 50 amp breakers, lots of 10 gauge wire and some shark fittings) The space savings is really nice, but the lights in the house do momentarily dim when it kicks on. Here the model and place where I bought mine:

Hello Smokey

Also there is more than just that pellet boiler doing the heating if that diagram is any indication.

Let me explain

Judy in England is only using a pellet boiler no solar stuff.

However Donny (Wherever he is) is using DHW Solar with the 2 coil water tank.

See again here >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKJpSr5kkes

I really like the idea of the 2 coil water tank.
A US made 2 coil water tank called a "Superstor" can be purchased from HTproducs in Mass
>> http://www.htproducts.com/superstor-ultra.html

Solar DHW Tank >> http://www.htproducts.com/superstor-solar.html

I have the one extremely durable cupronickel coil model and really LUV it especially the LIFETIME guaranty and the price is the same as the Indirect DHW water tank at Home Depot with a 5 year guaranty!!!!

5 tons is not bad!

However if used the 2 coil Superstore as I outlined above with Solar DHW Panels connected to your HF60 then you would save a bundle$$ more!!
